I Have a 78 f150 supercab that I have converted to 4x4 I have a 460 I'd like to swap in, do I need to change the mounts on the chassis to accomplish this?
Welcome to FTE Puppo!! Congrats on going to 4x4, the search engine on here isn't the best, but check it out. If IRC and you still have the 2wd frame, I think you will need the 460 mounts.
If the stock 2wd front cross member is still in the truck you will be able to use original Ford 460 frame stands and mounts. This will be a bolt in deal.
L&L does make conversion mounts that use the 2wd frame stands. These mounts are also a bolt in. The L&L number (from an older catalog) is #030495.
Again, this information only applies to a stock 2wd frame and front cross member.
