Just bought a new 2013 F-250 about month ago. I pull a fifth wheel rv and am having the same problem that some of the others are having, sags a little more than I like when towing the trailer. My question is has anyone ever bought the extra springs that come with the camper package from Ford? Talked to the local dealer and they said do not stock and can not get this extra set of over load springs. Anyone ever bought this camper package and installed it?
Toss in a set of air bags of your choice and call it a day. I have a set of airlift air bags with a wireless controller for the air system. I love them with heavy loads and towing the trailer. Firestone air bags are another popular choice. I know there a few people who are going old school and running overload springs or helper spring set ups.
Choice is yours just ask questions when you got them.
I have a set of airlift 5000 Load Lifter air bags and the Wireless Air in my truck. I purchased everything from Amazon. (0% for a bunch of months is nice while trying to pay off a truck) My friend who owns a auto customizing business did the install. I had other work done to my truck at the same time. I figure I could have done it myself with a few beers and hours in the driveway if it was needed. Remember, you don't have to get the on board air system as there are filling valves for the air bags.
I have the camper package.
I also have the plow package
The truck sits dead level empty.
Luckily, my 5th has a very light hitch weight.
The 2014's seem to all have the 4" blocks to
reduce the squat.
I'd look at a compressor and air bags if I went
heavier.
My springs are... Front 5600 Rear 6200.
I have the camper pkg on my 2012 f250 and just installing the factory overload won't solve your sag issue. The springs work but the problem is that when the truck is loaded it has to sink down before the overloads make contact. After they contact that is about as low as it goes but by that point the truck looks sagged. I was also trying to figure out the best solution and I think the airbags is the best route.
