Misfire Help Please...
I changed the plugs and ignition wires here but get the same error. I switched a few of the plugs and wires around but got the same error. The plugs looked normal. I do have a Ford dealer ship nearby and was planning on getting a distributor cap in the morning.
Any suggestions anyone has would be greatly appreciated. As I said, I have a socket set, basic hand tools, and a code reader here.
Thanks!
I am having the same problem with my 96 windstar it has a 3.8l and I have done the same thing plugs, wires, cleaned the upper and lower intake, checked sensors, I am running out of options I think the only thing left is the coil pack in fact I just called about one tonight and they are $70 at autozone oh mine is on the #2 plug. if you do happen to find something different please let me know. I am sorry I couldn't help you out more though. I did just drive back and forth to indiana though about 7hours on the road and the van did ok and I suppose it would have made it further if needed I think you would be ok driving it where you need to without too much trouble.
again sorry I couldn't help.
Ben
If I still get the problem with the same cylinder, I'll probably look to the coil pack/distributor cap. Then I'll look to the injector for that cylinder. I did pour in a bottle of Sea Foam, the best cleaner the parts store here said they had, into the fuel tank for the time being.
I appreciate any other suggestions.
