I have been haveing trouble with backfireing and slow throttle response when I stomp on the gas at low rpms. I pulled all the codes (koeo, koeo) and have no trouble codes. I have the timeing set at 14 btdc (spout out). Recent mods inlclude K&N filtercharger, and MSD6a and blaster coil. I run premium gas. As far as I can tell the TPS, MAP, O2 sensor, EVP, EGR, all test good according to the Haynes manuel. The only other things I can think of to look at would be the Cats to see if they are plugged and the fuel pressure. Oh, it's a 91 f-150 with a 302. If I stay out of the throttle untill the rpms are up around 1900-2000 then floor it I seem to have no problems. For a fuel injected engine I would expect almost instantanious throttle response when the pedal is floored. Any suggestions or advise would be greatly appreciated!! One more thing, I notice that with the timeing light hooked up and the spout in, the timing was retarding to 0 deg. btdc for a second then advancing to 20-25 btdc when I floored the throttle. Does that sound right?
Thanks in advance for any help you guys could provide!
