1991 Ford F 150 ext cab 4x4 351w
Does anyone know why my power window on the passenger side won't go up after bottoming out. The motor is fine and it works fine up until it bottoms out. Should I replace the regulator, and if so is this a hard job. The driver side work fine. To get it up I have to take off the door panel and loosen up the power window motor bolts. I then work the motor back and forth and it then goes up.
I also have the same problem with my 92 F-150. I have replaced the window motors and gears and still have the same problem. I live in Fl and it get worse when it is real hot.
I can't here the motor spin, but when I hit the up and down switch the volt gauge jumps and it clicks. I have not taken the motor apart to check the insides. The motors are out of a 96 ford crown vic. They work fine except when at the bottom on the passenger side. The driver side works fine, and the passenger works fine except when bottoming out. My guess is the regulator is binding up on the motor gear, but before I do any replacing I am seeking input from people with more knowledge than me.
Again thanks for the help
My driver side power window on my 89 E-150 got stuck in the up position the other day and I found that there is a watch type spring in there attached to the toothed piece that the motor moves. This spring had rusted and was binding so I oiled it and it freed up. All fine now. Don't know if this would apply to yours, but it might be worth a look.
