Help!!! Strange Electrical problem.

Help!!! Strange Electrical problem.
1988 F-250 460 engine.I've been having a heck of a time with my truck starting..Not long ago I was having a problem, so I replaced the starter,battery and the starter relay..Found out it was the ignition switch..Changed that and all was good,for a while. Then when starting, it would click and the positive cable would get hot and start to melt..Replaced the ground and the positive cables..Then it was fine,for a while..Then today it would click and I noticed the hot cable would JUMP and was getting hot when I tried to start it.I am at my wits end and nobody I know can seem to figure it out..Thank you for any input.
Forgot to ad: When I went to close the hood,I wiggled the positive cable and it started sparking.. I disconnected it.It has EVERYBODY stumped.

You ...could have a bad battery , and very well may . Hot connections , melting ,= excessive amperage draw . Loose , poor connections can cause that . Excessive amp draw from the starter . Many things . I would have the battery properly tested , check ALL grounds and positive connections . Best of luck !
