The '97 F250 HD thread got me wondering what the differences between the standard F-250 and the heavy-duty F-250 from '92 - '96. I believe the standard had a GVWR of somewhere around 7,600 lbs and the HD around 8,600.
I would assume the springs are different.
I'm thinking the std might have had a semi-floating 10.25" rear end while the HD had the full-floating 10.25, but I'm not sure on that
Any front axle differences? (I'm thinking I remember DieselBrad saying all F-250s in that range used the D50 TTB)
Correct on the rear axles. Believe the frames were the same. All of them that I've owned/seen had the d50 front. Hd came with zf trans, ld had mazda trans. I was under the impression the ld was pre 92 and then made again in 97 when the new funky style came out.
You're probably right about the springs too, they had so many different options the springs were a toss up.
