89 ford oil sender, exhaust pop, any more ideas?

hey guys, i got my 89 ford about 80% complete and its running pretty good.

i have most of the major vac lines hooked up and its running smooth and revs good has good power ect. i dont' have all the emmissions done but i don't think thats a issue with this but looking for more advice.

ok, issues at the moment, oil pressure gauge not working. it could be the gauge, sender or wiring. i replaced sender with one from old motor(may work or now idk. i fixed a break in the wiring leading to the sender, no go.
i need to get a manual gauge to check what i have just for now, but would like to track down how to fix this problem and leave it stock atm.
also, is there a test i can do on the sending unit to see if its good? ohm test? what to look for?

ok also i after the truck has run a couple minutes i now have a pop in the exhaust that i can't figure out, not sure if its just things warming up or what. engine runs smooth and revs nice, has power, doesn't sputter except briefly on start up. wondering if its timing,or maybe something needs to be hooked up,its hard to explain honestly. i don't see it change rpm at the gauge when it happens so im not sure its really in the engine.

any ideas guys? this engine is a engine that was in a 91 bronco. i see some odd spots in the harness but have the orginal to my truck i may swap in if i need to.

any ideas guys, i would have to check but i was almost kinda wondering about the valves, if one was too tight could that cause such a issue?

seeing as how it is a rebuild motor, perhaps they need to be checked now after its been run for 10,000 miles?

still playing with the oil sender, ill get a new one soon and i also need to get a gauge to check what the engine is making.

thank you for any help you can come up with.

not sure how to pull codes on this truck. if someone could help me with that, i could pull the codes.
\

it does have the ENGINE light on,,,, not check engine light. not sure how useful the codes will be with this truck as its a more simple system, maybe not of much help at all.

Warm up the the truck then do this: Fuel Injection Technical Library » How To Run a Self-Test to run the Key On Engine Off (KOEO) tests and Continuous Memory (CM aka historical) code display.

Or purchase a code reader such as the Equus 3145.

Two digit code definitions: Fuel Injection Technical Library » 2 Digit Self-test Codes 11-32

Trust me...the codes are VERY useful.
