So after a week of three exams and other crap I was pretty happy to find a sweet deal(IMO) on CL locally.
Complete-ish. 97 7.3 152k miles on it when pulled.
Its dismantled, so some assembly required, but its all there.
fuel pump+bowl, oil cooler, starter, HPOP, injectors, valves, etc etc etc
Just missing an alternator.
It also came with the engine harness and AC compressor and lines.
Quick question though. In one of the cylinders he found a bent pushrod during dismantle and a valve that is kind of 'shoved' up in the seat.
Does anyone know if it is intake or exhaust valve that has the dimple?
Before purchase we took that valve and another out and the seat looks good. It appears the valve must have gotten hot and the edge just sheared off making the valves overall diameter less and causing it to go further in.
Anyway, it also came with two pretty good XL doors and the engine stand! LOL
One doors 'chicken wing' window is busted out, but thats replaceable.
They're pretty clean. a few dings, but nothin bad.
Good deal Alex. Now what are your plans for it? Just to have for spare parts?

I paid $500 for it all. Delivered to my friends house! lol FREE STORAGE! At least a couple weeks until I can get a break from school and make a trip home with it.
And Gabe, I am not entirely sure on that. I know I will be selling a few things..turbo, injectors, maybe the harness and AC compressor?
This took away my set-aside 'stud/spring/rod fund' but after reading the amount of work to stud your engine IN the truck I kind of planned to remove it and clean it all up anyhow. I was going to do the IC at the same time so the front would be pretty much apart too.
As for now its just education for me. I figure if I can pay $200 a credit hour for school that I think I can justify spending at least 3 hours on this!
Yeah that I do. It kind of takes away from money to mod the truck, but I figured I got it cheap enough it would come back to me and then some!
Either way its spares if something goes wrong. I believe my water pump is going out. About an 1/8" travel on the fan and Tom said thats a tell tale sign of water pumps in general.
