I straight piped my truck the cheapo way, by taking the muffler off, taking the cat out, taking the guts out of the CAT and then putting it back on, and it sounds awesome. Now if you are just looking for sound I would just straight pipe the truck. Stacks can look good if they are done right and not too big. I would put stacks on my truck but i do need the bed space and it sounds pretty good the way it is right now

It takes a certain truck and a certain stack to look good. It can be done though!

Just use your head when installing them... Theres a guy who stopped by for an interview with a Cummins the other day. He had the stack about 6" lower than the cab... Needless to say his paint is toast there, the cab is black (truck is white), and his 3rd brake light is a little crispy....

Then you have to think about what your going to use your truck for. They take up space and whatever you put in the bed of your truck, you have to make sure stays away from the stacks. Iv looked in the bed of several stacked trucks and there is usually something cooked on them.

If you plan on keeping the truck stock, you should be ok. If you plan on chipping it, bigger injectors, bigger turbo, etc, then whatever you haul/tow is nearly guaranteed to have a nice soot coating on it before you get there.

Stacks are cool (sometimes), stacks are cheap (usually), they sound awesome, but personally youll never see any in my truck for the above reasons

I've seen some good looking OBS trucks with 6" aussie stacks. Ive always preferred angled out stacks to the mitre cut ones, but thats all opinion.

He had done really nice work putting diamond plate flat across the top around the stacks to prevent stuff falling into the bed and then below his diamond plate tool box, put some to block other crap from sliding up against them.

It was clean. My description probably isnt the best, but it looked good IMO.

I guess I am wondering...why even ask? It's not performance thing or a function thing, but a personal preference thing. All your going to get is a consensus and load of opinions on what to do or not to do. Apparently, some don't like opinions that disagree with their own, so there are comments made about arrogance and stuff like that when you asked in the first place. Just do what you want or like and leave the questions for functionality stuff that effect how the truck runs and performs.

Lol, Byron - after the good discourse on opinions it is just too much not to add your own!!

As for me, I like the stacks. My toolbox is a batwing type and I'm thinking I could cut the corners to make room for the stacks. Then just wled them back up and it would look clean. But, with all the other things I need to do, it will be way, way, way down the line.

That sure is one clean CC, though. Beautiful truck!

I think stacks would look good on that truck. I have dual 6" miter stacks on my 99 superduty and I like them. Yea sucks cuttin one hole in the bed but I got over it. I put a thin tool box in the back. Yea you lose some bed space but mine was already a short bed but oh well. I think 6" would be the max on your truck. I almost did 5" but I though it looked dumb. Way too small. 6" is perfect, atleast for a superduty. Do it right and get stainless steel exhaust. Yea its expensive but worth it. 2 things I hate about stacks. One is you lose bed space. You get used to it. And second is that it does coat everything with soot if the bed is wet/damp from dew in the morning or if its raining lightly. Sucks cause my truck is white. The main part that gets sooty is the inside of my bed. Would I do it again on a reg bed? Nope haha. But I like it and I paid alot of money for the whole system. Looks cool and I get alot of compliments on it. Sounds mean too

Ive had my stacks for over 2 years and i never get soot on things in my bed. Then again, i have turn outs and not mitre cuts so any soot that does come out is directed at a 45* angle away from my bed

I personally like the dual rear exit. If I every do my exhaust that is what I will probably look at.

Stacks are about as attractive as Miley Cyrus' backside. Leave em off that clean OBS.

Stacks, NO!

Stack, your call. If it's tasteful, not three feet higher than the cab, not filling the neighborhood with coal dust every morning, a single stack can look good. Cut the bed hole carefully and save the piece; you can patch it back in later. Your ears will thank you to put it on the passenger side, unless you carry passengers more often than not.

Any vehicle with two exhaust exits (tailpipes, tips, stacks, what have you) tied to what is by definition a single exhaust stream (in our case, a single turbo) looks.... compensating.
