I tried it this way first, and I could not remove the coolant tank so I suggest don't take it off, remove the grill much easier:
"On my 2011 F250, I replaced the headlight bulbs without removing the grill, the right side was pretty easy to get to, the left side was a bit trickier but I easily removed the air box/coolant reservoir out of the way and I was able to get my hand down there and replace the bulb. I had the whole job done in ten minutes."
The problem I had when I had to replace a blown bulb was that I didn't have a long extension to get at the bolt at the bottom of the headlight assembly. Luckily I could move the light enough to get my hand back in behind it yo get the bulb out
I have a new 2014 f250 that I just upgraded the headlight bulbs on. I found it was quick and easy to just remove the 5 small bolts that hold the wheel well cover on and pull it back on the driver side. You can just reach in and change the bulb from the back and put the well cover back on. It took me less than 10 min to do the driver side. The other side you can just reach in from the top and change it. Hope this helps!
