so my dash squeals and it sounds like there is a damn ferret playing behind it. is this a common problem in the OBS trucks when they get older? And any somewhat simple ways to fix the problem?
on my way out for the day and I don't have time to take the dash apart and look at it. But I'm going to guess that there is a broken mount somewhere?

Pull the Passenger Side Kick Panel. There's a plastic L shaped tab that mounts the dash to the Cab.
It's a common issue. FoMoCo used to have a repair kit (I.E a $0.35 L Bracket and self tapping screws).
Your local Ace Hardware, Home Depot, etc has the exact same stuff.

Issue solved.
thank you brother! I actually just found the culprit when you responded to my post. I also see that Bronco graveyard sells the fixing kit for $25. I think I'll spend about a buck at Home Depot and call it a day.
How I did mine.
The hole needs to be enlarged to 1/4", IIRC. The L-bracket needs to get bent. I used the screws that came with the bracket, they run into the plastic fine.
If they loosen in the future, pop rivets will get used.
Finished.
i had to smile when i read this ... i am still fairly new to fords (4 years owning a ford truck) but the more time i spend reading here the more i see " oh, that's a common problem with these old trucks" ... .
don't get me wrong, my ford earns me a living and i love it , but sometimes ....
anyways, glad yours is an easy fix. if my own dash starts chattering at me i'll know where to look now !
