Need help

I have 1999 7.3 stock, loss of power and white smoke. Pulled drivers side value pan and disconnected one injector at a time ,it did not make any difference in the engine, so I removed entire gasket and restarted truck.
Does this mean I am only running on 4 cylinders? Max RPM before removing gasket is 2000 rpm.
