I picked the 2005 model year as an example. On the main crossmember Ford part number 4W1Z5C145AA it is listed as fitting all three cars. As well as the upper control arms. On the lower arms it is possible the Town car may have different ones. But the Merc and the Ford take the same part numbers. So I wouldn't be afraid of a Marquis unit. The Ford would most likely be sprung stiffer. Especially the Police version.
Ya that's what I was thinking just all have different spring rates
I don't know the numbers but the reason people choose the Crown Vic is that they are used as fleet cars. Pure economics. The more available the cheaper the parts.
I have an Air Ride Level Pro 2e system on my '48 F-! PU. This has been a long project, started in '06. There is a 4" dropped axle with 9000 bags in front and both the original and a '46 banjo rear end with 7000 bags in the rear. Most of the reason for the delay is I keep changing the build. That's a big mistake that I found out the hard way. It's only been driven a few days in between changes but it seems to be OK. If you're interested I might be able to send some pictures, if I can figure out how to send them?
At the moment I'm trying to set the preloads and fine tune the system so I can decide where all of the wires and hoses are going to go. The decisions are what take up most of the time, at least for me. It there was just a blue print to follow, it would cut the time by a whole bunch. If you want any info that I can provide, just ask?
