turning off courtesy lights

turning off courtesy lights
OK, to clear it up 1st thing, I am referring to them as courtesy lights and not the dome light, but all the lights on the truck coming on when opening door and staying on for a while after truck is locked up. I do not know what else to call them....
So I probably am just an idiot, but I can not figure out how to turn them off, I do not like my lights staying on when I open the door. I always stand there and watch them to make sure they go off, and yes its like a watched pot...Arrg.
My truck is a '14 f-250 XL, just a plain ol' work truck. I know how to turn them off on the normal vehicles that have this in conjunction with the auto on headlights, but my truck does not have that.
Its a preference thing more then anything, I understand why they do as they do, I just want to turn it off so I can not stand there like an idiot waiting till the lights go off....
I have referenced this site, the internet and my manual, so far I have not found any thing on the std lights, just ones with auto lights....

I've been doing other things (upfitter switches, Air Springs, on-baord compressor) but will probably get back on this issue sometime down the line. I'd like to have the ability to switch this "courtesy lighting" on and off but, for now it looks like it is all or nothing if you go to the dealer and have them reset the Body Control Module light settings to 'Police Mode'.

I've been doing other things (upfitter switches, Air Springs, on-baord compressor) but will probably get back on this issue sometime down the line. I'd like to have the ability to switch this "courtesy lighting" on and off but, for now it looks like it is all or nothing if you go to the dealer and have them reset the Body Control Module light settings to 'Police Mode'.

I may just have to ask the dealer when I go in to get my windows tinted (cheapest place in town and lifetime warranty).
I have a old cop crown vic. that I drove everyday for years, well up till I bought this truck, the interior lights have been not coming on for years, not sure why and never cared about them on the car, but I would hate for the interior lights to not me on in the truck, since its new. however I dislike the other lights coming on so bad it may override my wanting the interior lights to be on...
It will give me something to think about....
