yup, i put around 400 or so miles a week on mine just for work that is not including weekend driving. usually once or twice a week i feel that i need to race all the other vehicles on the road, and do so the 40 miles one way to work. i have never had a CEL come on in 50k.
Truck is not hurt. If it is operating normally then I would not do anything more to it
Cleaning the egr valve will not hurt nor help at this point if you have no codes and it is operating normally.
You can probably do the cleaning or replace of it yourself if you desire. It is just on top of the passenger side valve cover.
Ok. Well i don't know either. I am still learning. I will just drive on my truck and try to drive it a little bit harder. I still don't know where carbon is trapped but hopefully it won't stay there.
Oh seinx....I did want to add that the week before this fault happened, the truck was starting a regen as I was pulling in the driveway. Three out of five days coming home, it did a regen as I was pulling into the driveway. I would shut the truck off and smell the diesel burning. Maybe that caused the nox sensor to show a fault?
cleaning the cooler makes no sense to me. Unless you have having an issue with contaminated coolant.
EGR coolers can plug on the exhaust side. Outside of the international engine world I would bet that's more common even.
The nox sensor and temperature sensor are two different and separate sensor's. But neither are used by the ecu to detect low EGR flow, that is usually done with the MAF sensor ( mass air flow).
I've never run much for additives myself. Does your area use bio diesel mandates? Still, I'm a little surprised they declined warranty work. But there are cleaning solutions coming to market for this problem.
No I just got the truck back and have been driving it. Hasn't come back on. I really do like my dealer. They are really awesome. The diesel tech doesn't know. He called one of his engineer buddies at ford. The plan for now is if it comes back on then ask him not to call his engineer friend At ford and just call the help center like the rest do
