Yes, I agree, and has personally happened to me on occasion. There was an instance though, where the truck did indeed shut right off, the driver swears up and down it turned off, and he did have it towed in. Whether or not the overspeed actually did it, I can't confirm, but I never count anything out with a 6.4
I didn't see any over temps on any of the EGT's that would have shut it off.

ISSUE
Some 2008 F-Super Duty vehicles built prior to 8/20/2007 equipped with a 6.4L diesel engine may exhibit a lack of power or no start with possible DTC\'s P0003, P0004 and P0091 caused by circuit CBB12 at the high pressure pump gasket grounding to the high pressure pump body (may also result in fuse 74 being blown).
ACTION
Follow the Service Procedure steps to correct the condition.
SERVICE PROCEDURE
1. Unplug connector C1926 near the high pressure fuel pump cover.
2. Check pin 4 green/white and pin 2 yellow wires for a short to ground.

Its fixed
Yup,you heard me right, the truck is fixed and starts now, just got to go pick it up Monday.
Turns out a wire was burned and broke apart in the engine harness, so what they did instead of spending hours changing an engine harness was just soldier on a new piece of wire to replace the burnt and broken one. Hope all goes well and we have no more problems, crossing fingers and didn't have any sensor problems.
