Just got a new Dip stick tube and new O ring ordered and supposed to be here by next Monday, hoping Friday though so that I can put it in over the weekend.
Anyone know if you can put a SD dipstick on our trucks? They come up not the very front of the valve cover and much easier to get too, as well as mount easier without that silly little two piece thing ours use.

I wish I could relocate my auto dipstick, its in the way of my DP.
this thread is about the leaking dipstick adapter in the engine oil pan, right?
I just occurred to me - would it be possible to carefully tig weld the dipstick adapter to the oil pan? with the engine out and pan off the engine obviously... or is the dipstick adapter aluminum?

The dipstick adapter is brass. But….thats not a bad idea….i wonder if i could make or buy something that would work that is steel…..and Tig that on…..hmm.

what, you can't weld brass to steel? you must not have the right wire :-)
I bet there is something steel out there that could be made to work, though. once I get my oil pan off, maybe i'll put some work into a search - unless someone beats me to it.

Mines off already Ill probably take a closer look today. I can envision machining a lip to go into the pan. Only part I can't really see is the part where the dip stick goes in.
