2000 Ranger CEL
My parents 2000 Ranger has an CEL for cylinder 4 misfire, but it will clear on its own and then start up days/weeks later, is this common? Could it be an injector?

Which engine does this Ranger have?
How long ago did this start?
What code numbers are you getting?

The code is p0304. The engine is the 4.0l. Misfiring for the better part of 6 months.

Start with checking plugs and wires. Make sure they are all good. Check the coil pack for that cylinder.
