Driveshaft problem...

Hey all so I just swapped in a new aod transmission but sadly I got the wrong tailshaft length .. My old trans had the short tailshaft but my new one has a long one , so I swapped the housings and tried to slide in the driveshaft , but it's like an inch if that too long , could I just cut the yoke to get it to slide in further ? Or what are my options ?

I doubt that cutting the yoke will help, it is still going to bottom out on the tailshaft. Best bet is probably going to be a trip to parts yard with a tape measure.
