I am going to go look at a used 2005 F250 Lariat CC 4x4 v10 with 107000 miles. I am new to the super duty game and was looking for some advice on what things to watch out for?

The truck will be used as a secondary vehicle and hauling a horse trailer (not yet purchased, but ideally a gooseneck) a couple times a year.

That's an awesome combo there. You have the better tranny and and a V10. About the only thing I would ask about is if the plugs have been changed because I think on the 05 thay can be a bear if they break off. Other than that just look it over good, check all the fluids and if you buy it make sure you post up pics so we can all drool..

Motor and trans are amazing. Great combo that will yank and yank.

Truck wise, check the front hubs and all steering linkage. These trucks are known for eating front end components due to their weight. Easy fixes. Just make sure you check them

2002 Excursion with some goodies

 

Listen for exhaust leaks. The exhaust manifold studs break can break off. Ask about the spark plugs for sure. You can also look at the bed supports to see if there is any major rust and or rot. I love my V10. With the tuner its a 400 HP gas guzzling beast.
