Ok so when I hit about 65+ I start to hear a rumbling noise (kinda hard to describe) and there is a slight vibration, sound seems to increase with speed. When I let off the throttle sound goes away. My thoughts are u joints or perhaps a new tail housing bushing is needed on the m5r2? Reason why I mention that is because when I push up on the driveshaft at the trans there seems to be some play. I can take a video later to help describe what I am saying about the trans
Now that I think about it, I do hear a click sometimes when I take off. I will get under the truck and inspect more too.
I wouldn't let it go too long either. I waited too long on a bad front one and at 65mph the driveshaft went right through the floor and came up behind my dads feet.

Did you ****? LOLOL ****. Yea usually I cruise around 55mph. I plan on doing them asap. Need to figure out what size I have. There are so many damn selections it seems.
Too add to what's been said, it might not be obvious that a joint is bad with the shaft in place in the truck might not be enough or any discernible play in the caps to call it bad.
Take it out then check the u joints condition, only takes one dried out cap to cause the vibration you feel, a condition you wouldn't notice it shaft in place under the truck.
Did the u joints today, both the old ones were pretty beat. Feels much better and more smooth but i still have slight vibrations at highway speeds and when i slowed down to about 35-40 in traffic. Need to do more driving to better describe it because once the truck was back together i had to take off for work. Anyways i still ned to get the tires rotated and balanced to rule that out. I also bet that the engine mounts and trans mounts are most likely original. Seems to be a good amount of driveline movement if i accelerate hard. Im thinking about getting the driveshaft rebalanced too. 65 bucks if i take them the driveshaft and its so easy to pull. I did notice a small ding in the middle too. Not sure if that is an issue.
Oh and for reference my truck used 2 of the 2-4800 duralast gold u joints.
Drove around a little more. The vibration is the driveshaft for sure. You can feel it in the stickshift and when I looked under the truck the output shaft of the trans looks like it's leaking a little bit now. Hope that's an easy fix. Gonna take truck or just driveshaft to driveshaft shop today.
Most likely the "U" joints are no good...also when you reinstall the driveshaft yoke into the tail housing you should pack some lube into the yoke and shaft and splines.Use part number D2AZ-19590-A ..Teflon grease..My flareside had a slight thump on accel from a stop...This will cure that problem if you truck does that and also it wont hurt since you have the driveshaft out...
Well I replaced the u joints and now, it seems to have a crazy vibration around 35-45 mph. So now I got to figure that out. Also good to know about the lube.
could be the tires...possible a shifted or broken belt in the tire...or possible an out of round tire....Does the steering wheel shake at all? does it happen when braking?
I had a similar issue on my 94 f150. Replaced Ujoints and flushed both axles, still had the vibration. Turned out it was the torque converter in the tranny was going bad. Replaced that and no issues since. Mine has the E4OD.

Yeah lol. Bent the snot out of the driveshaft so we had to replace the whole thing and weld a plate over the hole in the floor. That wasn't good enough and eventually rotted out to the point it left me with this (as it currently sits):
That runs all the way behind the seat and into the cab corner with the seat belt hanging through the floor. The seat pan in riding on the frame rail. The red up top on the floor was the last plate we welded in after the driveshaft came through. All gone. Don't let it go too long.
