I am finally getting a SGII and was hoping you guys could give me some tips. Will this show codes even if the CEL is not on. I am going to print off the temps and readings from the tech folder but is there anything else I should look at.
Is there anything wrong with Your truck? The SG does will scan and show You codes that do not trigger a CEL. In case You don't know, on their main website there is a list of some specific Xgauges for the 6.0L I'm still typing the codes on some of them, kind of tricky if You do it for the first time but easy to get the hang of it.
I just looked at the scan gauge website is this all the xgauges. Also does the SGII come with anything per loaded. Thanks again I am about to go pick it up now.

Yes, it comes with some things pre-loaded, but most of the xgauges you need for the PSD are not included. You have to program them into the PIDs. I'll get a list.... hold on.
I must be typing invisible posts....or maybe I need to get stronger glue when I copy/paste.
lol, Sorry man, I saw the link and I thought it was the youtube post... OP, following that link and it will give you the pids you need. It takes some time getting them entered.
Thanks Blade35, I just went to Autozone and picked up my SGII, they gave me 10% off the price. Friday I will start to install and check out the truck I plan to buy, an 04, F250, 6.0L. The truck has the Service Engine Light on right now, and the good people on this site have all said, "Use SGII to check it out and keep it on the truck". This is my first Diesel and I may be in over my head. Anyone in the Compton Air Port area in South Los Angeles area that Could give me hands on help?? I can bring the truck to them, Or they can visit my Hanger at the airport.

SGII is a good diagnostic device but it won't read DTC's on an 04.
Hi, I phoned Linear Logic to ask if SGII would read the DTC codes on an 04 F250 Diesel 6.0L. The lady at Linear said, " as long as it is the standard OBDII vehicle the SGII will read the code".
I hope she is correct for I have the Service engine light on!
