OK guys, here is a challenge....On my 97 5.4, I am trying to fix this "dead spot" in my RPM range. It is driving me crazy, and I have reached my wits end. At about 1200 - 1400 rpm at idle, or 900-1100 rpm in gear, I have a rough or "dead" spot in my engine. This only happens when I use light throttle pressure, if I use more than 1/4 throttle, the motor revs past with no problem.I get a bit of a rough idle at rest after coming off the highway as well. I have only been getting 9mpg around town. Since this has happened, I have changed everything listed in my profile, as well as 6 coils, spark plugs, fuel filter, TPS, IAC, PCV and the hose/elbow into the intake, 8 fuel injectors, and cleaned my MAS. The ECU shows no codes, and I have even tried to hold the motor at the "dead spot" trying to force the problem into a trouble code, but nothing happens. PLEASE HELP !!!!!!!!!
You might want to check the EGR valve to see if it is gummed up. Usually it is the TPS sensor but yousaid that you already changed that. No vacuum leaks anywhere?

I fouind a questionable vac. hose today, and changed it. I also ran some of that GM Top End cleaner through the motor & changed the oil. Seems to run better, but dead spot is still there. HELP Help HELP !!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!11
