Tire/wheel compatibility?
I have 16 inch wheels that I want to put new tires on. Actually I want new wheels as well, but that's going to be awhile. So the tires that are on there right now are super old Cooper 235/85/R16. These tires have been on there for possibly 15 years or more and they sketch me out. Original owner tires. What I was thinking about putting on there are Dick Cepek - Radial F-C II Size: LT285/75/R16. I believe these are 33inches. Will these work on my wheels? Do these tires suck? Some guy at Les Shwabble said they don't last and I should get some Toyo's. But I'm not sure if he was trying to sell me on those because he said they can order the Cepek's. So I just wanted to open up a dialogue with you folks because I don't have time to read every thread on here, and to be honest I don't know much about tires. Open to suggestions, I was looking for radial with some **** because I live in Montana and it will be driven off road from time to time. Any suggestions are appreciated as always.
