I used needle-nose pliers (no sharp edges) to guide the boot around the spider. It's difficult, but not as hard as other things I've done on the truck. I imagine myself pulling those off in 10 years when the boots have really sealed onto the spider. I think a box cutter will be in order.
Thats funny right there! We are laughing WITH you Rich...
I put both boots and all 4 clamps on the plenums, then use a fat, round-shank screwdriver to coax the 2nd boot on the spider. The clamps RR sells are almost big enough... They are a PITA to get in the right place and tighten down. I keep forgetting to ask Clay about that..
I cut 1/4" off the boots to get the spider to fit. That's with an ATS housing, though, and those angle the spider really close to the plenum. The boots are still longer than they need to be.
I used one of those hose tools. Screwriver looking thing with a twisted end. Just be careful not to nick one of your new boots.......ask me how I know.

At least I'm not alone! For those that put the band clamps on after it was in place, do you have freakishly small hands? I'll fight it after work today, but last night I just called it quits.
Trey: boost leak detector question for you; I made the one in your video, I'm attaching it at the intake tube with the filter removed. I have the CCV set as stock. Am I missing anything? The turbo, I/C and plenums should all pressurize to 20psi. Just want to make sure. My previous leaks caused all sorts of issues.
