I installed my Diablo Predator today that I bought from Motorhaven, and all I can say is WOW!!!!!!!!!!

My truck has some serious cajones now! I've only tried the 60 HP setting so far, and that thing opened my truck up! I got 20.9 MPG mixed driving in to work today (19 mile trip). There was 75-80 MPH for a while, then stop and go, and then side street. I was pushing 23 MPG while doing 70. I would definitely recommend getting one if you're thinkin about it.
You lucky Basstardo .... [smile] That is next on my list .... How did the EGT's go ...... Have you had a chance to measure time for cooldown to 300 deg after a hard run ?
The EGT's weren't all that bad surprisingly. I have a Tymar intake and a 3.5 inch downpipe to the cat, and from the cat back I have 4 inch exhaust. I have a post turbo pyrometer, so the actual temps are a little off, but the most I managed to get it up to was about 850. Take that 850 plus about 15 psi of boost and I'm guessing (wildly at that) that the temps were around 1100-1175. The cool down time isn't bad, but the last mile or so to my house is 25 MPH so it gets some cool down time then, but usually it gets down to about 250 or so in about 4-5 minutes. I let it go to 250 because of the post turbo pyro. The cool thing is I tripped my service engine light by exceeding 25 psi of boost. It went away when I shut my truck off and the Predator couldn't find any codes, so I guess all is well.
Oppy - What updates did you need for your Predator? I just got mine, but if there are updates, I'd like to have them.
I'm not exactly sure what the update involves, but DiabloSport released one a short time ago. Give them a call, I'm sure they could tell you if yours has the most recent software.
When I get mine back I'll let you know if I notice any difference.
i can say wow to, but i cant get my fuel past12or so to the gallon.
can someone help with a answer to this. i have 4 inch ex and 11 inch k&n cone filter with diablo set at 60 milage sucks,Help.
First thing I would do is get rid of that K&N and go with a Tymar. I had a K&N on before I got my Tymar intake and there is zero comparison. The K&N doesn't even hold a candle to the Tymar IMHO. Have you changed your fuel filter lately? The three biggest things that have an impact on mileage on my engine is whether the air filter is clean, if the fule filter is clean, and if the oil is kept fresh. I'm not sure what else to say. Do you drive fast a lot? (It's hard not to with the Diablo )
Check out the Ford AIS also - just came out within the last couple weeks. From the posts I have seen, like jschira's, it sounds like a great system.
12 mpg sounds low, unless you really get on the throttle. Is this worse than you were getting before using the Predator? I have noticed that mine is significantly lower the more over 70 mph I drive. Seems like it peaked at a little over 20 mpg when I was driving on 2 lane roads at about 62.
Starting this morning, I decided to start keeping better track of my mileage so I can get a better handle on when and how it fluctuates.
When i fist perchaced my truck i was getting 12 pulling a load.
resently i had get a cam sencer put in and a new trans.
and yes i keep all fluids changed and fuel filter every 3000.
I talked to the programmer from moter haven, he said to get the most recent flash. Because some of the flashes were causing 20 horsepower loss and fuel milege loss also.
maybe thats the problem.
im takeing it in in the morning , so i gues ill find out, untill then if anybody comes up with something let me know. thanks for the help Scott
