That hitch seemed to be made very well--the only thing to watch would be how much vertical weight you put on it and make sure the bolts don't work loose.
Glad you think it will work--sure was getting in my way. Had tripped over it a couple times and it didn't give an inch...
Good luck with the fitment.
Joe
I welded the gap shut on the receiver tube, just to look nice. sanded and painted
To fit 'correctly' I notched and boxed the tube for the coolant line. I thought the hard line on the left side would be OK, but I ended up notching it too.
Attached using the 6, 12mm factory bolts and 2, 1/2" bolts. I had to bend a jog in my trans cooler shield to get it to fit properly.
All finished, bumper back on. Not too shabby. total cost, about $50
For both the lines you notched for, how much clearance did you allow? (it didn't look like much in the photos, that was all) - you may want to check after a month if you get any rubbing.
Smokey - Looks very good. What "vendor/model" hitch bar did you start out with? Front plates are required in Texas so, I'll have to figure a way to "hinge" a plate to fit (maybe just mount the plate on a 2" bar and fit the receiver as the "carrier".
I went with the Reese tube as it does not have the inside weld like most all rectangular tubing. The main cross tube is 2-1/2 square, 3/16". The plate is 1/4"
for a front license plate, you could use something like this:

As for the hoes/line notches, the hose rests in the notch which is smooth and won't chafe the rubber. I put a piece rubber over the hard line, just it keep it from making noise.
Smokey,
Did you also have to push the soft coolant line back, along with cutting the notch? Mine looks like it would be square in the middle.
No, the notch was enough. The notch is 1" on the top and 2" on the back to match the angle of the hose.
The hose could be modified but I wanted to keep it factory for warrantee purposes
Smoky, Any chance you'd consider making a second one that I could buy from you? Nothing out there looks as good as yours or fits as well, and my welding skills won't come close to doing the job. My truck is a 2012 250. Has the exact same bumper arrangement as yours. PM me if there's a chance.
