So I'm leaning towards getting a S & B air intake with the washablefilter. Does anyone run this one? If so is it quieter than the 6637? Also howoften do you wash them? Next question, If I replace my 6637 and ad the wickedwheel will that make it quieter? Thanks guys, I'm going to be doing this the next day or two and just need help deciding. 6637 and wicked wheel or S & B

I have the S&B with the dry filter (I live in a desert climate). In my opinion the S&B is quieter than the 6637. Also an opinion, adding the WW will make the turbo louder regardless of intake.
I went from a 6637 to the S&B. Way quieter, without that 'Darth Vader' breathing sound. I've had mine just a little over a year with less than 6k miles on it, and I haven't washed it yet. My last Blackstone OA showed the same filtration levels as the 6637. I am very pleased with the fit and finish of the set up. I am definitely happy with it and felt it was worth the money.
I am considering going to a S&B from my AIS. Even with a fender sleeve on my AIS, my 38R turbo nearly pulls the indicator into the red on a new filter.

My AIS kit pulled my vacuum indicator about 25% when new. Then I found a thread (I think here) that said the new vacuum gauge with the AIS kit is more sensitive so I swapped my old one in and I haven't had it pull any vacuum yet even when towing.
Keep the jokes to a minimum, but I sucked on both of them when I swapped them and could definitely tell a difference that the new one was easier to move the indicator.
But yes if you have very many mods done the AIS kit isn't good for much more than an exhaust and tune.

I'll be the first to leave it alone.
I am learning that I agree. My 400 HP is a bit too much for the AIS. This is a special research project for me, because nothing on the market really does the job of the AIS with the flow I need. Joey pulls 52 PSI boost out of the air, he has an AFE big boost II or something like that - I have a thread running where he mentions it.

I put a vacuum gauge on both and applied vacuum. The ais one took less vacuum than the other but the numbers escape me. It was significant on a small scale of 1-10psi.
First impressions...I really like it. I dont know if the 6637 was either way dirty or the S & B flows a lot more. But it sure seams to wake things up a bit. I'm really happy with it. I did have it on stock before I turned it back up once I had a clean air filter on there.
My truck came with the S&B, so nothing to compare to. I do like it - just the right amount of whistle. I clean it about once a year, which is 15K miles for me. I often wonder what vacuum it creates as it loads up - might be a small part of the haze I get WOT. When bigger sticks, 1.0 exh housing and riffraff ported housing wheel get installed, I'll be revisiting the airbox.
I will warn you that your buddies may accuse the S&B of looking "ricer". IIRC the S&B destructions mention not even bothering with the filter minder as it will pull it down constantly.
So what's a good way to check for vacuum in the intake besides a filter minder? I wonder if there's a gauge with a follower pointer that would stop at the highest vacuum - some mechanical guage that could be tapped into the intake? Any merit to making this a dedicated gauge in the cab with an electrical sender? Might be a good way to keep an eye on filter effectiveness.
Now about what Rich mentioned, could a filter like Joey is running be put in an S&B? Are these filters all 4" openings, so just a matter of what will fit in the box?

the restriction in the system is the box, you can only pull so much air through the inlet tube in the grille, take the box off and you have more surface area to pull air from which means less restriction.
