Great photo. Appears to be Holly Green; uncommon color these days..
The truck was definitely some kind of blue, that was the colour of the County trucks at that time. I just have a few B&W pics, wish I had more colour ones.
say your right, i wonder if it was a aftermarket modification done by some body shop??
The Uni box was cut off by my Grandpa and his coworkers at the County shop. They were all heavy duty mechanics, pretty familiar with using a grinder, blow torch and other tools. I wish I had some pics of the back, would be interesting to see how they patched up the cab.
Great pics. Love the one with the girls and the 1961 or '62 F350. Since I grew up in the city, I seldom saw women driving pickups back then. I'm sure that was a different story in farm country.

Thanks. They -- the women, including my wife -- would drive "the '61" 9 hours from southern Maine to the headwaters of the Allagash River, with 5 campers, 4 counselors, and 1 Maine Guide on board, pulling 5 canoes on a trailer. More than half the trip, back in the '60s, at least, was on un-paved logging roads, hence the need for the optional 19.5" rims -- you needed the ground clearance. Here's an actual trip heading out in 1964, in "the '61"!
