Fast Engine Idle
Can anyone give me some advice on what is causing my problem. i have a 96 GT40 351. Just recently, the engine will not return to normal idle speed after acceleration. it will idle at around 1400 rpms in neutral. when i put it in gear, the idle speed still only drops to 1100 or so. I am told the normal idle speed for this is 850 in nuetral, 650 in gear. In the last operation there were a few ocasions that the idle worked correctly, but for the most part, it was high. Could this be IAC, TPS related? I hope its not the ECM, because that would be more $$$. Otherwise the engine seems to run fine. Please let me know your thoughts/suggestions.

Fast Engine Idle
The EEC will tell you why it won't idle - just have the codes pulled. Most parts stores do it free now. But remember that just because a part appears in the code definition, it's not necessarily bad OR in need of replacement. Diagnose the indicated system - you may just have a vacuum leak.
