I am putting a 5.0 out of a 89 Bronco ( bought at a swap meet just for the core & bolt on pieces so it may be from anything) into my 49 Ford F-1 I used the oil pan & timing cover that came with the engine. I bought a rebuild ATK engine and changed the bolt on parts and stuck the engine in the truck NOW i started to think about the oil dip stick and can not even find where it used to go so I can start to find a replacement. The oil pan has the sump more towards the back, put not all the way back. I needed this style pan because I used a Mustang 11 rack for steering. Any ideas where to look ?

Why did you type this question in the 1948/56 & 1967/72 forums instead of the 1987/96 forum that would have been apropos?
No parts catalog pic available, as FoMoCo only shows one pic...for all 1980/96 V8's, so it worthless for identifying the location of the specific years/applications for this 5.0L's dipstick/tube.
Look under the hood of one of the following to find the location.
F2TZ6754A is about 2 feet long and presses in a hole. There is no screw in fitting on the bottom of it. On small block Fords I have seen dipstick tubes mounted in the passenger's side of the timing cover down close to the oil pan. 2 feet is too long for this position however. I have also seen them going straight in to the block close to the oil pan.
