Oil pan question
The block I'm rebuilding was cast in 1977 and came out of a 1978 econoline van.
My issue is that I can't get a new oil pan meant for the 92, because the dipstick went through the block, so no hole. Mine goes through the pan.
Are the oil pans different as far as shape?
Im fine with purchasing a bew pickup tube that will fit in the 1977 oil pan, but I don't know if the pans are the same. I don't want to bolt in the pab, have the engine ready to drop in and find out that it won't fit in my truck.
Or does anyone know where I can get a dipstick that I can weld in for the 92 oil pan?
Thanks!
