Allow me to introduce Jenny73! The cross-canadian-half highboy-half camper special-half custom-half...........whatever. She's a heartless B but I'm sticking it out with this broad! If she's anything, she's loyal.
So here's kind of where I'm at with her. New engine was swapped in, various tedious parts replaced, some wiring issues addressed, 4X4 chunked loose, matching original mirror and grille found, grille swap to original, etc.
Segue to gratitude. I'd like to take a moment to thank all those on here who helped me with my idiot questions. This forum is amazing and maybe I'll run into someone off here someday. But these trucks are what we ran when I was a kid, and now I am finally in one again which is where I always wanted to be. They're the quintessential Montana pickup in my mind. She ain't much to look at but I'll dress her up for the prom next year once I figure out a booth location for a couple weeks. So here's a few images from along the way, and I threw in a shot of a 36 Plymouth that I have been getting some praise on lately just for the heck. Hit me with some suggestions, and don't hold back, I can take anything after I was hit with in the face with the body swap news. Next project will be a crew cab. All original, might I add.
Bug guard may or may not stay, haven't decided.
And here's that '36 Plymouth(off topic) shot I wanted to share with you guys.
Thanks! So on the engine, I believe what he explained was that it had a 360, then he swapped in a 390 which is what is at the top up there. Then we put in a new 390. Because I've never rebuilt an entire engine from the inside out and don't have the tools to do it properly. And I don't trust anyone around here to do that, but I almost kept it because I want to rebuild one at some point. Got the core trade price for it.
Yeah! That's funny you're the first one on here to mention that. My mechanic and I were laughing and sort of confused as to what whoever was thinking on that one. And the line was just dangling around underneath, it was bad.
