5.4 3v IMRC?
2006 5.4 3v. Got the check engine light and started running rough. Could tell it was missing on the highway over the last month or so, very occasionally. Yesterday it was missing badly and would die whenever you put it in gear. Limped it to the dealer and they diagnosed as Intake Manifold Runner Control stuck open. Says it is $400 in parts and $800 in labor to repair.
Does this sound right? Some reading I have done suggests that there isn't a IMRC in a 3v and it has been replaced with a different device called a "charge control"?
