See this: https://www.ford-trucks.com/forums/876853-hey-guys.html .....I dropped this truck of in Sept 2008 with the understanding that it would be mechanically refurbished. It still sits in the weeds where I dropped it off 5 years ago untouched. I have a hired a roll back to to go get. And I paid up front. The fella that was supposed to do the work was a friend and the thought of "written contract" never crossed my mind. He said he would give me my money back.I sure hope so. i would call every so often and get the same old story...fixxing to start working on it. Well it was my wife's Grandpas truck so she put the heat on me and I am going to get it money or not The roll back will be getting the cab and frame. I will be picking the 292, steel flat bed, rear axle, and wheels. Got my hands full.I am out 3000$ and am slightly teed off. Thought about finding a running donor truck and putting Grandpas cab on it. Original 223, found a 292 that ran fine on the stand. Love those 300 inline sixes, but they would never fit??? So I have to do brakes drivetrain, tires, and miscellaneous hardware, electrics, etc.Pissed and over whelmed. To anyone else this is a peiace of crap, but to us it was tie to those who are no longer with us. Got burned and learned.Matt
I`m in the same boat in that my friend is slowly working on my 56 M100 when he has time, he does have a few health issues but does great work charging me very modestly so I can`t complain. I did drop $3,000 in advance and so far he`s done almost that much work on it.
