The Y chromosome doesn't really do anything and there is only a tiny amount of genetic material on it. Two X chromosomes are actually copies of each other which is why fewer genetic deficiencies show up in females. When one is defective the other one makes up for it.

The Y chromosome has a unique way of repairing itself from within, without an extra copy.
I don't knoiw the article doesn't prove much. Our Y chromosome is still easily flawed and more subsceptiple to genetic ''oops'' than the XX setup. Commonly found in females. There are several females out there with more than two X's.
