Last Sept. (2012) I bought my 70 F350 flatbed dump for $2600. My 54 F100 was not running and I needed a truck for my small mowing and lawn care business. The 70 made it home from Pittsburgh (about 160 miles) with no problem but then things started to go wrong and it left me set at my buddy's house as I was delivering lumber to him. It sat there for about 2 weeks. Eventually another friend and I got it running. It needed the starter rebuilt, new coil, new solenoid, and I put in an electronic ignition. The exhaust manifolds were both replaced also. And all this work and parts cost me some money.
The first friend, the one were my truck sat for 2 weeks asked why I didn't buy a newer truck. Well , then I would have a monthly bank loan payment and of course wouldn't have a cool old truck. If I had to have a a monthly payment I would be losing money in my business.
