Has anyone used the ZR brand Prep-Step instead of Jasco, Ospho, or another similar product?
It seems that using products made by the same company and designed to work together should be the best combination. That could just be my consumer philosophy though. Any opinions on what works best?
Does anyone know how Prep-Step takes to sandblasted metal? Cid pointed out this consideration in an earlier thread.
Prep-Step is not an acid, i.e., not a converter. Prep-Step is a totally biodegradable, environmentally friendly product that is helping solve many long term protection problems.
Its primary purpose is to soften thick scale that can then be scraped off. If you are going to sandblast it may not be required unless the build-up is thick and nasty.
I'm a ZR distributor and have only had a few calls for it in several years.
From what I have read on the web-site it sounds like it can be used just like Jasco. If you do use it on scale and then scrape it off it says to reaply prep-step. It seams that at about $10 for a 1.5 lb bag that is mixed with water, 2 tablespoons/gallon, it is cheaper than Jasco at $5/quart. If it works even better with ZR it sounds like a win-win product.
Carl, being a dealer maybe you can shed some light on something for me: Why is there zerorust.com and zero-rust.com?
