Cab air filter
How do I find my cab air filter. & how do I change it. I know its behind the glove box, but how much do I need to remove to get to it
But for the heck of it, I looked it up on rockauto, and they list cabin air filters for the 1997 if the dealer-installed kit # so an so is installed. I never heard of it, maybe it came out later. When I ordered my early '97, there wasn't anything like that.
The filters listed at rockauto seem to be different sizes by who made them. Saw 10 x 11, 8 x 9, ?
Other than one of the part listings saying it's behind the glove compartment, I don't know anything else about it. But I would think that if it is going to help keep the A/C evaporator clean, then it would need to be upstream of that, like between the inlet duct for outside air, and the evaporator air inlet. Wherever it is, it needs to be after the rainwater from the outside air inlet is settled out, or else the filter would get soaked on a rainy day at speed.
The kits have been out of stock for a few years but some have made their own by just cutting the location and taping it in place.
