I have a loose fitting oil plug in the '96 PSD. It has 224,XXX on it. On my '89 IDI the dealer had an oversized plug available but the dealer and several parts houses said they could not get them. I found a piggy back style where you screwed it in and it was oversized and it has a center plug you can then use. Problem, the '96 is 14 X 1.25 mm and the kit is 1.5 thread pitch so I am not exactly thrilled. Short of changing pans what other options are there? If I take the pan off I will weld up and drill/tap again. Looking for on truck fix.
My drain plug was over tightened before i got it so it always had a slow leak. What i did was get one of those rubber plugs that you turn the bolt and it expands. They are rated for oil/coolant temps so it wont break down. Been in there for 10k miles and about 3 oil changes and no problems with it whatsoever. Plus, its easy to remove.
^^^^ Got a link to that plug? Drain plug is leaking on the ECLB, new crush washer, threads clean, and it's thiiiiiisssss close to being overtightened and stripped, which is NOT where I wanna go.
