ECO Boost vs. Diesel

ECO Boost vs. Diesel
Well Morning all from a new poster. I've had Ford products all my driving days and now moving to the RV world very soon. Contemplating on the Eco Boost or a diesel. Dry weight on the TT is 5,355 and is 27 ft long. Looking at the Eco 3.55 rear with the trailer brake control, sway control and trailer tow package just not the Camping package. Dealers are all telling me Eco can handle it. RV places say no problem. My one Ford friend says no way. Too close on tongue weight (about 800lbs) plus a weight distribution kit plus passengers, plus normal truck bed supplies. I'm looking at with passengers and supplies about maxing out on the payload. Towing weight is not my problem it's the payload amount. Specs have the truck payload at 1,750.
I'm afraid the "hills will not be alive with the sound of music" but rather my Eco engine struggling to climb as mopeds pass me by. Would love to hear from those that have experienced what I'm thinking.

Hi Ron, welcome to FTE!
I have a 2013 Eco boost F150, crewcab, and a 2006 F250 6.0L. I find them both capable tow trucks. Usually I tow around 11,000lbs landscape trailer with tractor or uniloader.
Any who, you might want to post your questions in one of the tech forums which will get you the opinions you seek much quicker.
Try this one,,,, 2009+ F150 - Ford Truck Enthusiasts Forums
OR this one,,,, EcoBoost (3.5L, 2.0L) - Ford Truck Enthusiasts Forums
OR finally this one,,, Towing, Trailers & 5th Wheels - Ford Truck Enthusiasts Forums
