reviving a forlorn idi
Injectors.... good luck. I bought the OEM Stanadyne's and several were bad a few thousand miles later and I did a super ****-retentive surgical kind of clean install job with those. They did smoke my IP so that may have been a cause of that, you decide. When I bought the IP I had them pop the injectors and four failed. One cleaned up and I bought another three. I still have one cylinder that hits a little weird but frankly I tired of messing with it. It runs fine.
Install kit, I used the Dipaco kit. It leaked almost immediately but after I drove it for a few days it stopped. Heat cycles and vibration may have caused the clamps to set.
I put a reman brass radiator in a while back. Then I noticed my water pump wobbled so I did the whole system minus heater core and oil cooler. I did my belt and tensioner and idler at the same time.
GP sound good, that's what I used and no problems 10 months later.
Sounds like you're on a good track.
