90 e350 351 will not run?

I must be missing something but what? It has been setting for a while but was started up in 2012 and had maybe 5 gal of gas in it. In 2011 I had replace the in-tank fuel pump and filter. Well I think it has gone bad and the gas gauge is also not working now? If you pull the gas line off the pump on the rail the one in the tank will not push any fuel out.

The high pressure pump is working and it is pulling gas from the tank and is sending it to the rail but the fuel pressure is like 35 to 40 lbs and my guess is with out the one in the tank pushing gas to it is what I don't have as much pressure as it should but it would start and run fine before I had replace the one in the tank before so it at least should start up.

I do have good fire to the plugs and the plugs and wires were also replaced in 2012.

So I have fuel to the rail and I have fire to the plugs and we added 5 more gal of fresh gas to it. So it should at least fire up but nothing unless you shoot a little starting fluid into it.

As anyone of you would know that working on a Van is a royal pain and things are very hard to get to for checking parts out.

In my mind it seems that the injectors are not sending fuel to the cylinders with it firing with the starting fluid.

What am I over looking and what do I need to check and where that the injectors are getting power? All fuses are good and I see no loose or broken wires.

Someone please head me in the right direction that is if I can get to where I need to get

Thanks

If you have 40 PSI of fuel pressure, it should run. I'd suspect the gas in the tank has gone bad.

I would almost agree with you except for the fact when we were trying to test it we unhooked the input to the high pressure pump and ran a hose from it into almost a gal of high test two times and it never tried to start. That is when we would see the 40 lbs of pressure.

So that still sends me back to something to do with the injectors not sending gas to the cly. Hard to believe they would all go bad so there is something not making them work is my only guess at this time. And I do not know really where to start the first check?

Have books on all kinds of cars and trucks but nothing for this one. If I buy one I want to get one that is worth a hoot so I can chase troubles down and with a wiring diagram.

With the key on, you should have 12 volts to the injectors, supplied by the eec power relay. From there, the computer grounds them to open them for a short amount of time. (Measured in milliseconds) It is common for the injector driver(s?) in the computer to go bad.

Well I do know the relay is working and sending out the 12 volts so at least it is good. I will check a wire going to an injector and make sure I see 12 volts going to one.

Didn't really care to hear that the computer might have gone bad but stuff does happen

Thanks and something is better than nothing when I have no idea how the system works to start with.

GIVE ME A CARB PLEASE and I can handle that
