Senix,
Every so often, my nav system asks if I want to run a vehicle health report--which is sent to my computer, which turns out to be an ad for taking it in to the dealer. Very useless, but it can be done on my '09.

Joe,
learn something everyday. Didn't know that was around then.
I bought my truck used, it didn't have the factory stereo, it has a Kenwood dpx 500bt installed, the stereo is nice but does that mean when they installed it the sync won't work? The stereo has a usb and audio connection as well as blue tooth, so I guess it is the same but would it run a health report? I think Senix said it isn't available in the 6.4, thoughts? The truck has the Sync usb and audio input but they seem to be disconnected since the stereo has the same inputs.
It's available in the 6.4. I have a 2010 6.4 and SYNC. It's built into the factory GPS Unit.
Not sure if mine had the GPS, it is a lariat and it does have the Sync and audio input but as I mentioned the stereo is not factory, any idea if the health report etc. would work with a nonfactory stereo?

I don't think you can... Does the Sync Voice command still function?

the phone button on steering wheel doesn't work and I am guessing that is how you access sync, the Kenwood has it's own phone button, I can access my phone through voice with that but not sure on sync....
my 6.4 lariat did not have the nav, just the 6 cd changer, so I goes that is why I did not have the sync feature. I too ditched the 6 cd changer for the aftermarket kenwood with nav and Bluetooth.
Still have 6 cd changer in the shed come to think about it.
Try registering with SyncMyRide.com. If I recall correctly, when I registered, it asked me what head unit I had, it shows two pictures, one of a GPS and one of a standard digital radio. So I believe it's possible, but I doubt it.

Is there a "Voice" button on the steering wheel?
I know there is a phone button, I believe there is a voice one...now I need to check! On another note, getting ready to change the oil in the 250, what do you guys use to catch all the used oil, I believe it holds 15qt?

I have a Fumoto valve that I installed to replace the factory drain plug. I can put a section of hose on a barbed nipple to drain into a 5 gallon bucket. Since I've had my lift and larger tires, I can fit a 5 gallon thompsons water seal bucket under the truck. I re-use the bucket because it's metal and has a pour spout to pour the used oil into the empty oil jugs I just used.
