2001 Ranger Motor/Tranny

Hello Everyone,

I have a 2007 Ranger 2.2L Longbed Auto that my son rolled. I can get a 2001 Ranger stepside/flareside that use to have a 2.5L Auto in it. I was wondering if the Motor and Tranny from the 2007 will fit in the 2001?

Thanks.

There may be some mount/exhaust/cooling differences, but the main thing will be the wiring and computer. Since you have all the parts, just transfer everything.

Do you have emissions inspections? Can be a can of worms, but if everything (cats and all) makes the swap and it runs like an '07 it will test like an '07.

No tests is good, that way you don't have to be "perfect", but you still need to be close to make that motor work right. Cats, sensors, computer etc.

Is that 2001 worth the effort? Blowed up motor not a good sign....

All I want to do with the 2001 is use the body/frame....I want to convert as much of the 2007 parts as I can. Cause right now I have a smashed up truck in my drive way that seems to be to much to mess with. I cannot find anything newer than a 2001 body anywhere.
