Trans code P0705

Can someone pls help me with the meaning of trans code P0705. On the index of trouble codes it says "trans range sensor error". Is this serious? Does this mean I shouldn't drive very far and should get it checked out and repaired immediately? Or is it OK to drive as I'm 600 miles from home? Any help appreciated!

If it shifts through all the gears it will probably be fine getting it home.

Thanks Mark. Looked at the wire harness connector and seems OK. Undertsand if it isn't shifing OK will need to look at changing the sensor or having continuity of wires checked out. Last first.

Cleared code and drove 600+ miles home with no shifting problems or reappearance of any trans codes. Trans temps same as before too. Wonder if initail code could have been triggered by driving several hours into headwinds gusting to 60mph with camper on?
