I know the TSB requires Motorcraftâ Premium Gold Engine
Coolant with Bittering Agent.....does anyone know what color this is? The MSD sheet says clear but I am thinking it is gold colored? Anyone know?
The coolant is gold. There are two versions of the gold coolant. VC7 and VC7B. B stands for buttering agent. Its the same coolant but sold in states that require the bittering agent to deter wildlife from drinking it.
Thanks guys, I did pull a sample the other day and it did look gold to me, so that tells me it probably has the Motorcraft Premium Gold Engine
Coolant. My strips came in today to test but the truck is too warm right now but I will be testing it soon. I will keep you posted!
Hi I read somewhere that the 6.4 (and other diesels for that matter) will increase their idle when it is cold, I guess this prevents wet stacking? For prolonged idles. Anyway, I read that the emergency brake must be engaged, know anything about that? Mine seems to idle a bit faster on cold mornings and I don't use the e-brake....I have a 2010 by the way...thoughts?

sounds normal. It should go back down when you tap the brake. Thats a normal function on a 7.3.
I was trying to respond to fast because I something to do but the e brake dont need to be set. High idle comes on at a certain temp and goes off when you tap the brake.
