Factory Nav problem

Factory Nav problem

Has anyone had positioning problems with their factory nav? Specifically it will randomly shift left or right several hundred yards. At that point it starts grabbing the nearest road and giving me directions to get back on the route I am already on. This can go on for 5 to 10 minutes or more before it "finds" itself. The more roads the worse it is.

What I have noticed:

- shifts left or right several hundred yards
- seems to lag by maybe 100 yards and then make a turn and it is then offset from your current position.
- no help from updating to the current software, actually seems to be getting worse.

It is making it basically unusable unless you are on a straight highway and stay on it. It would be useless in a city.

No, haven't had it to the dealer yet. Hopefully get in in next week. Just wondered if anyone else has run into this.

There was an update released that helps address this issue...go to MyFordTouch,com and download the update.

Is it an update since the new software that came out last month? I recently did an update about a month ago. If that is the last one, it didn't help.

I just checked and Sync is up to date with ver 3.6.2

I know that you can also do a hard reset of your touch system that might also take care of it. Look it up on the site. (you still keep your stations etc.)

Well I did find a "fix" for this. Found it on another forum........disconnect your negative battery terminal for about 2 hours. Has been working fine for over a week.
