I'm sure you could hang the truck from them..The 3 bolts would be the weak link but they are grade 8.. Actually you could hang the truck from just one..I wouldn't go under it. LOL
i have three buddies with super duties, 2001 F250 crew cab diesel, 2003 F250 etc cab 5.4 and a 2004 F250 ext cab. All three are lifted with 35" tires and all three are off roded HARD. Ive seen all three literally ripped out of mud holes by the front tow hooks and have never seen one tweak, bend, crack, or fail........... NOW Ive seen Jeeps, GM trucks pulled out of little mud holes where the trucks were barely stuck and seen their hooks bend and break off and go FLYING
by the way what are you doing to them? I was stuck once and got pulled out with a chain (yes i know it was the only available option at the time) luckily my buddy had a F350 dually so he just got the chain tight and just pulled me out without any jerking. Ive pulled shrubs, bushes, and small trees out with my front tow hooks, plus my buddies who yank the crap out of their hooks when they are stuck with no damage like i said
The hooks can and will handle a lot but try to always pull straight on them you will bend your frame sideways way before you will break the hooks or bolts. As mentions I have seen many Chevy hooks snap but never a ford even in extremely hard collisions.
The front hooks are insanely strong. Remember, though, that every piece of our trucks drive line is designed to provide max force driving forward. Pulling heavy loads in reverse is not great for extended periods. This is generally more of an issue for independent front suspension vehicles, our solid axles can take more abuse. In general, though, if you really need to put the torque to the ground, do it driving forward.
They are heavy duty and tough...They weigh 8lbs each.... Cannot find tow ratings or duty capacity... I did find there are many variations for a variety of makes, years and models.
They are sold as Left and Right Hook
